Abstract

Entropy is a fuzzy set (FS) property that measures the degree of fuzziness within a FS. This manuscript proposes an entropy measure based on the Pythagorean fuzzy decision-making (PFDM) method. Firstly, a novel definition is suggested with the help of interrelated properties. Secondly, the degree of hesitation is also added to the proposed entropy measure and proof of all axioms of the proposed entropy measure is presented. Thirdly, a numerical comparison analysis is performed to check the validity of the proposed entropy measure. Numerical comparison analysis shows that the suggested entropy measure of PFS gives superior results compared to the already existing entropy measure of PFS as it is valid for global sets. Finally, we used our proposed entropy measure to build Pythagorean fuzzy VIKOR (PF-VIKOR), involving multi criteria decision making, for managing daily life problems.
