Abstract

This research examines the latest advancements in blockchain technology, focusing on its role in value creation and the challenges companies face when integrating it into critical functions such as Finance, Medicine, Internal Data Control, and Supply Chain management.

The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of blockchain’s potential to enhance transparency and efficiency, while identifying unresolved barriers to its implementation. A systematic review of studies published between 2008 and 2024 was conducted, categorized by business function, and analyzed using tools such as Mendeley and VOS Viewer to visualize trends and relationships within the research.

The findings reveal blockchain’s transformative potential as a strategic asset, offering solutions to historical inefficiencies and fostering trust across diverse organizational areas. However, significant challenges remain, particularly scalability issues in large enterprises and the absence of clear regulatory frameworks. These obstacles hinder widespread adoption and highlight critical gaps in current research.

The conclusions highlight the need for multisector collaboration, the development of standardized platforms, and further empirical studies to address these challenges. By overcoming these barriers, blockchain can become a cornerstone of innovation, driving value creation and operational efficiency across industries.
